Bride of Anubis

"What is this place?"

They pushed the doors and it showed stairs leading down, the only light from torches of fire.

"Anubis is down here?" She said in disbelief.

They started walking down like it was nothing.

She sighed and kept fallowing the,\m

She kept on going, it seemed like it went on forever.

But eventually they reached the bottom and it felt warmer and humid.

"Where are we?"

"Miss Nefertari? What are you doing here?" she turned to see Thoth all surprised and shocked.

"The dogs led me here.. By the way where are we?

"Did you ask them a question?" he queried.

"Only where Anubis was. "

He sighed and frowned at Ank and Otep, "You HAD to bring her while he is at work?"

"You mean were in the underworld?"

"Yes..." Thoth sighed, scribbling down on his scroll.

"I am sorry. All I hope is that Anubis did not PLAN for you to come down, it is not a pleasant place for such a kind young lady."

"Should I leave?"

"No, I guess you should be shown the underworld sooner than later. But I will inform Anubis that you are here." Thoth said, "Wait here." he walked off.

She nodded and waited for Thoth to come back.

Thoth arrived to the judgement hall, "Thoth, there you are! Why are you late, you are never late." Anubis said.

"I have to tell you something Anubis." he said, trying not to chuckle, "Can it wait? And why are you snickering?"

Thoth leaned down to him and whispered to him that Nefertari had found her way down here.

Anubis froze, ".........................WHAT!!!!!!?????" his voice echoed.

Nefertari heard his voice echo through the underworld. "I hope every things okay."

Anubis rushed over to her, "Nefertari!"

"Anubis." She smiled. "The dogs brought me down here."

He sighed, "Why did they bring you here? I would have thought you were too afraid to come here."

"I actually didn't know where they were taking me." ^^; "I just asked them where you were and they lead me down here."

He sighed, "I guess there is a point there. Well, you may as well see what I do." he got her hand and showed her to the judgement hall.

She smiled as he held her.

She saw the souls of the dead lined up, waiting to be judged.

Anubis was looking at the scales, as Thoth wrote down the results.

What really tugged her heart was seeing the children. She squeezed his hand tightly.

He sighed a little and held her hand, "I know, but they died of illness." he said.

"Still..."She clutched tighter.

He kissed her forehead, "I have to work... you may stay if you wish, but I must work."

She nodded, "I think I'll go back up."

"Ank and Otep will take you back. I will be along soon." he kissed her again.

She smiled and nodded, "Sounds good."

Ank and Otep did as they were told and took Nefertari back to the surface.

She pet them, "Good boys..."

They wagged their tails.

"How about a treat?"

They followed excitedly.

She went into the kitchen and gave them each a slice of meat

They munched away, enjoying it very much.

She smiled petting them.

Femi came running in, "Mother, where did you go off to?" she sounded relieved to find her.

"Oh hello sweetie. Ank and Otep decided to show me the under world," She chuckled

"Oh my...Ank, Otep." She sighed at the dogs.

She chuckled, "Anubiss was shocked to see me down there."

"I can believe that." she said, "Are you alright?"

She nodded, "I'm fine,"

"I am glad. It is not pleasant in the underworld." she said.

She nodded, "It was alright. Just not some place I'd wanna go back anytime soon."

"Anubis would have had to show you it eventually." she sighed, "Come the servants have made the afternoon meal."
