Bride of Anubis

Nefertari had come to the Pharaoh's palace to serve her aunt, Nefertiti. Her aunt was about to marry the pharaoh and become Queen of Egypt. Her mother had sent her in hopes she would find a good husband like her aunt. Everything was hectic for the wedding. Even Nefertari's birthday had been put on hold for the wedding. She sat in her litter excitedly as she neared the palace. Since she was the queens niece she was to be treated like a royal.

The royal guards bowed as she made her way to the palace. Nerfertari's head body guard, Abasi was at her side and ready to serve.

She giggled with excitement, "This is all so amazing!"

As his name meant, Abasi remained calm and stern, "I guess so, as long as you are alright your highness." he said, walking with his spear in hand beside her.

She blushed, "You know not to call me that here! That name is reserved for my aunt, Nefertiti."

"But you are you're aunts family, won't you have a similar title?" he said.

"Because those are the rules. I can't change the rules. I'm only the niece of the future queen. You should know this."

He sighed, "If it was YOU getting married, you would make a fine queen." smiling.

She glared at him, "Shhh... Hold your tongue! You know better than to say that! If some one heard that we'd both be in trouble and accused of treason!"

"I was saying my opinion, but I'll be silent for your sake." he was good to her. Abasi was a distant cousin from her father's side, he was older than her but he thought of her like a sister.

"You should know that the world of politics is a nasty business." She scolded.

"Yes....I do. But enough about that, You're here to enjoy yourself and support your aunt." he smiled

She nodded, "I'm to see her as soon as we arrive at the palace."

They arrived to the palace, with the servant carrying her belongings behind them. Abasi kept them moving until they arrived to the entrance.

Nefertari smiled to see her aunt waiting for her.

"Ahh Nertertari, my darling niece. How was your journey?" she asked opening her arms out to her.

"Wonderful, Aunt Nefertiti." She hugged her aunt.

"Come, you must tired from your journey. I'll get Bahiti to set your rooms up." the female servant bowed, "This way Miss."

Nefertari smiled, "Thank you." She fallowed the servant.

After being assigned her room, Abasi stood outside her room so she could change into some fresh clothes.

After she came out she sighed happily, "Ahh... this wonderful..."

"i'm glad your feeling better." he gave a slight smile, "We are to dine with you aunt."

She nodded, "Yes in the great hall."

"Then we should be on our way." they headed to the great hall.

When they got there, everything was set up, Her aunt sitting on her throne up on the dais.

Nefartari smiled and took her seat below the dais.

"Welcome dear Niece and make yourself comfortable." she smiled. Abasi kept his distance but a close eye on Nerfertari.

"Abasi why don't you go and eat with the other guards."

He nodded and headed to the courtyard to join the guards and soldiers.

The festivities went on for hours. Nefertari Clapped and dance with everyone as she ate

The dancing girls came out. The sounds of gold clinking together and the music playing in the back.

Some of the soldiers were looking inside to watch the girls dancing, some smirked and a couple other chuckled.

The festivities went one all night. The next morning it was time for the wedding. Every one was in a hurry to get ready.

The guards and soldiers were preparing the boat for the bride and her entourage. This was making Nefertari's aunt impatient.

"Faster you incompetent fools!" she shouted.

They went fast as instructed, "Dear aunt. Please be patient. You do not need to stress on your wedding day."

"I AM going to be on time for this wedding, not even Anubis himself will stop me doing so." she said as the servants followed her, trying to finish getting her ready.

Everyone one was shocked, challenging a god was dangerous. Something bad was gonna happen today.

Meanwhile....
Figures watched the business unfold, "Not even Anubis...well, that sounded like a challenge to m-" the figure stopped when Nefertari came in view his red eyes focused on her, "By the Nile.....what is this?"

"Dear Aunt. Please do not say such things, it's bad luck."

"The only bad luck I will get is if I am NOT there. Not go ready yourself child." she hurried her niece.

The figure continued to watch. "I should investigate this...intrigue matter." he vanished into black smoke.

Then Nefertari heard rustling in a nearby bush.

She sighed, "I am ready Aunt."
She went to investigate the sound.

Then out of the bush came a black slender but muscular dog with tall pointed ears and a collar of gold.

She jumped, "Oh I guess it's one of the palace dogs." She pet him, "Why hello there cutie."

He kept a stern face as she petted him. He waited till she moved, when she did he followed her.

Then Abasi came to Nefertari, ready and dressed, "Are you ready Miss Nefe-" he noticed the dog, "How did one of the dogs get out?"

She looked at the dog, "Huh? Why hello. Did you fallow me?" She laughed and petted him once more.

"I haven't seen him before, he must be new." Abasi was puzzled but remembered the situation, "COme along Miss, we need to get to the boat."

She nodded, "Your right." She fallowed her on

The dog watched as the went to the boats, he sat.

Then he noticed a crocodile on the banks and he nodded to it, It nodded back.

Nefertari and the wedding party had set sail for the temple. "Hurry up!" Nefertiti yelled irritated.
"Aunt maybe you should rest. All this stress can't be good for your wedding day."

"I will be FINE until I arrive to the temple." she said with a frown.

The dog slowly followed the boat along the shoreline. With the crocodile in the water next to him, The dog's eyes glowed red, "Remember my request." the crocodile nodded and vanished into the water depth of the nile.

The winds started getting restless and the waves crashed against the boat.

Abasi looked about, "Hmmm.....Sobek must be feeling restless?" he whispered to Nefertari.
