Emerald Warrior

The cat winked. When James went to his room, "What an annoy individual." he sighed.

She nodded. "He is one of the most annoying person ever."

He chuckled a little, "Well, he's your sibling, he is meant to annoying. But I have met worst people in my time."

She smiled, "I guess so." She stroked him, "By the way. I don't know your name."

"Ruriel." he said, loving the strokes.

She stopped immediately, "Did you just say Ruriel?"

"Yes...why, do you find the name offensive?" he asked dryly.

She shook her head, "No it's not that. It's just... Do you know some one named Celest?"

He paused, "..........why?"

"Well... She was my great grandmother..." She confessed

"Celest.....I knew a young lady by that name yes." he said, looking sad.

"Were you two.. umm..." She blushed, "Lovers?"

"Yes....I loved her....but since certain circumstances, I have not seen her." he sighed.

"You being a cat?" She asked. She stroked him, "You know she's been looking for you since you were turned into one."

"I do not know if this the same Celest until I meet her." he said,not keeping his hopes up.

"She's dead..." She sighed.

He looked to the floor, "I-I'M sorry. I didn't mean to bring up sad feelings." he apologised.

She shook her head, "It's fine. I was just wondering because she used to talk about some one she loved named Ruriel. He sacrificed himself and was turned into a cat."

HE was quiet for a moment, "........I can guess you didn't believe that could be possible hmm?"

"So it is you?!" She asked

"Yes....only a few people knew of what became of me. Celest was one of them." he sighed, "I didn't know she had passed on."

"She'd been looking for you, you know." she said stroking him

He sighed, "I had no choice but to leave. If I hadn't I would have put everyone I cared about in danger." he explained.

She continued to pet him, "Maybe there was a reason we met. You know this was her necklace."

"I thought it felt familiar, the energy from it is the same." he smiled a little.

She smiled back, "You know I do have some questions for you."

"Could you ask another time? I have had a rough day." he curled up on the couch an laid his head down.

She grinned, "So that means your staying!"

"For a little while." he said half asleep.

She smiled, "Yay!"

Meanwhile, watching from outside through the window...

"So...she is connected to the fleabag?" it was the man that got called, 'pervert' earlier. He looked at Gwen and smirked, "She's kinda cute. But such a pity that she may end up dead." he snickered.

Gwen yawned, "I think I'm gonna go to sleep too." She lied down on her bed and fell asleep.

He watched her a while longer and vanished.

He appeared in a dark room with pillars in a circle. "You failed." a young emotionless tone spoke, a child in purple came out with lifeless eyes, "I foresaw that you would." The figure rolled his eyes, "Don't bother me now Talismyn I am too tired." he grumbled, walking away.

When Gwen woke up she was still safe and sound in her bedroom. She yawned and stretched. "Ruriel?" She turned to the cat smiling cause he was still there.

His ears perked up and he woke up, "Yes?" it was like he wasn't asleep at all.

She smiled and stroked him, "It was nothing. Just glad to see you didn't take off in the middle of the night."

He stretched, extending his legs and arching his back.

"So whats it like being an Angel?"

"It's been been so long I don't remember." He sighed, "But I do remember the feeling of being able to fly....it makes you feel free and happy."

She smiled and stroked him, "I bet. Oh what I would give to be able to fly..." She sighed blissfully.

"I'm afraid with you being mostly human you and not showing the signs of angel wings, you won't be able to. he told her.

She sighed in disappointment, "What a shame."

"It is." He jumped to the window sill and looked outside, "I have been on my own for so long I have forgotten what it is like to talk to someone."

She smiled, "You know you are welcome here. Mother would love to have you."

"Your brother didn't seem too thrilled and from what I heard, you father doesn't like cats." Ruriel pointed out.

"Well he can suck it." She said mater of factly. "Please you have to stay! Grandmother will be thrilled to see you.

"I'm not sure....I still should stay too long....to be honest I'm being pursued." he admitted.

She pouted, "Well stay with my grandmother! She holds a safe haven for magical beings."

"No place is safe with who chases me. And the more I talk to you about it, the more INVOLVED you'll be. I don't want you hurt." he confessed.

She picked him up, "Please! Promise me you'll stay!"
