Bride of Anubis

"Playing with Ank and Otep and then I started coughing then I fainted." She said weekly

He sighed and held her close, "Nefertem, can you help me get her back to my chamber?"

He nodded and picked her up, "I don't know why your life is targeted to much in the short amount of time you've been here."

ANubis followed along behind Nefertem back to his room.

When they got back, Nefertem laid her on the bed and ANubis sat on the opposite side of the bed.

"I don't think she should leave the palace, nor your sight." He sighed.

"I told her not to leave the palace and to have ANk and Otep with her at all times. I am glad that I said that." he sighed, "Again, thank you Nefertem. I'll keep an eye on her from now on."

Nefertem nodded and vanished. Nefertari seemed disturbed.

Anubis laid next to her, "Do not fear, I will be recovered soon and I'll protect you." he promised.

"Why does everyone want me dead?" She asked

"Because they believe you are either a threat or it will affect me....And its true." he sighed getting a little closer.

"How could I affect you?" She asked

"With my affections for you. If something happened to you, especially now that you share a part of me, it will affect me greatly if you were harmed." he explained sadly.

She looked up at him with tired eyes, "You love me that much?"

"Since I first saw you in the mortal world." he smiled a bit.

"Were YOU that dog?" She blinked

He smiled a bit, "Yes. I wanted a closer look and it confirmed it for me."

She blushed, then started yawning.

He yawned himself. He gently pulled her over to him and had her back against his chest, spooning against her.

He had his arm wrapped around her waist. She felt safe having him close.

He smiled as he held her close, closing his eyes and fell asleep.

Set grinned when he saw the two. He gently lifted Anubis' arm off of her and grabbed her. "Such a beauty... Heh heh..." He grinned

Anubis stirred a bit when his arm was moved but he didn't wake.

But when Set was about to leave, He found ANk and Otep growling at the chamber doors, baring their teeth.

"Silence you two," He growled.

They didn't listen to him and kept growling and baring their teeth, getting closer at him.

"Quiet!" He growled, "If you don't I'll hurt her."

Then someone grabbed his wrist, "I don't think so." it was Anubis and his eyes glowing red.

"Well, well, well." He glared. "It seems you finally decided to wake up."

"Let. Her. go." he growled, squeezing tighter.

"Fine." He said dropping her.

THis woke Nefertari up and Ank and Otep went over to her, and ANubis tackled Set right out of the door.

"You dare enter my house and try to steal MY bride, you will pay Seth." his jackal helmut appeared along with a gold blade.

Set growled and fought back

Nefertari sat up and held her head, she felt something wet and when she looked at her hand there was blood.

Ank licked her hand and Otep licked the back of her head.

Anubis Swung his blade at Seth, "You'll pay Seth!!"

Set blocked it. "Pay? Oh I think not." His blade appeared and he swung it cutting Anubis' arm

He flinched but he pushed through and got back at Seth by cutting across his chest.

Set winced, "I'll with draw tonight." And with that he disappeared

ANubis roared when he left, "STAY AWAY!!" Nefertari came out to see what happened and she found ANubis in his battle form.

Nefertari was a bit wobbly, "What happened?" She asked steadying herself in the door way.

Anubis turned to her and made his blade and helmut vanish. He walked over to her, and guided her back to his chamber, "Sit down, I'll be back." he went to a room in the back.

She nodded, "Okay." She let him lead her to his room

He brought back some healing balm.

"Lean forward a bit." He got some of the balm on her cut behind her head.

She leaned forward, "Why does Set want me so badly?"

"I do not know. But my guess is that he wishes to make me suffer." he sighed, "I am causing you such grief."

She sighed, "Don't say that it's not your fault. Just bring it up to Osiris."

"I will soon. But I am even more tired now." he said smearing some of the balm on his arm, where he was cut.

She sighed, "I'm sorry. It's all my fault that this is happening/"

He got her hand, "I want you to do something for me...." he requested.

"Yes? What is it?" She asked

"I don't EVER want to hear you blame yourself again, understand?" he said.

She blinked, "Why?"

"Because I don't blame you. It is now part of my duty to protect you. SO it falls to me that you got hurt in the first place." he laid back.
