Bride of Anubis

"But it is my fault for causing you so much stress." She pouted.

"I'm more tired than stressed." he got back up and he started chanting, his eyes glowing red.

"What are you doing?" She was a bit startled

The entire palace illuminated red. Then as quick as it happened, it faded and Anubis came back over to the bed, "I put a banning spell up. To keep Serket and Seth out but any other god or goddesses can enter who are friendly." he sounded really tired now.

"Do you really think it'll work?" She asked. "Isn't Set powerful?"

"It is to protect youand to give me peace for a while." he sighed, "For now, we can rest."

After Anubis sat down Nefertari laid back and sighed.

"Do not worry. We will be safe now." he got her back in his arms and got comfortable.

She blushed at their closeness but didn't protest. She actually kinda enjoyed the closeness a bit.

He kept a firmer grip but not so tight as to squeeze her. he leaned his chin on her shoulder.

She had to wonder what did he see in her to love her so much.

Anubis felt happy with her in his arms and he felt secure.

Nefertari soon drifted off to sleep.

Ank and Otep slept on the floor on Nefertari's side. After today they were not leaving her side.

If some one were to take a first look at them that person would see a pair of lovers. But sadly they weren't

THe next morning...

ANubis was still asleep, his arms still around her waist and the Jackals still at her side.

Anubis was the first to awake, looking upon Nefertari safe and sound

When he saw she was safe and sound, he smiled and snuggled up and rested a bit more.

Anubis played with her hair as she slept

He wrapped her hair around his finger, being gentle of course.

She started to wake

"Forgive me I woke you." he apologised.

She yawned, "No you didn't."

He sighed, "How are you feeling?" he still played with her hair.

"Better," She smiled

He checked the back of her head, "Your injury looks better as well." he was relieved, "But we will go and see Nefertem later.

"I think he's gonna have his hands full with us,: She chuckled.

He chuckled, "I would not be surprised if was sick of the sight of us."

Once they arrived at Nefertem's palace he sighed, "I might just have to start charging you,"

"Seth tried to make off with Nefertari and he attacked me." he stated.

He sighed, "That sounds like him. So what is the damage?"

"I put healing balm on my arm," he showed his arm and Nefertari got a bit of a cut on the back of her head, healing balm on that too." he listed off.

He sighed, "I guess I'll check you two out."

"We are sorry Nefertem. We know you're normally very busy." he sighed.

"Ha well you two are my most frequent"

"Again I apologise." Anubis said.

He sighed, "It's fine. Now let me take a look at you."

"Look at Nefertari first. She was struck on the head." he said.

He nodded, "Okay let me see... Where was she struck?"

"He dropped her when i caught him." he showed where she was injured, it was all bruised.

"Hmmm.... doesn't look to bad." He then checked her eyes for a concussion. "She seems fine I would just keep an eye on her."

"I plan to." Anubis got her hand, "You alright?"

She nodded, "Yes I'm okay."

He was glad she was. After being treated AGAIN, they headed on back, "Once again, thank you Nefertem." ANubis thanked him.

He nodded, "Your welcome and PLEASE keep her safe this time."

"I will this time." he said, "Come along Nefertari."

Then when they returned to the palace, "Oh no." he sighed.

"What happend?" She asked

"I have to return to my duty in the Underworld, but I cannot leave you alone." he sighed, ANk and Otep came running to meet them.

She smiled and pet the dogs, "Well you put a barrier on the place right? So I should be safe until you get back."

"The problem is the barrier is stronger when I am within the palace." he told her.
