Bride of Anubis

"Did you hear her say this?"

He shook his head, "But I believe she does after what happened today."

"Well what happened?" He asked.

He sighed, "I found out she is in love with another and does not care that I saved her from Seth today."

"Are you sure that she doesn't care. I bet she was thankful, but judging by your mood you said something that upset her when she was only being honest with you."

"I never heard her say thank you when I saved her. And I was apologising for embarrassing her for a moment and then she brought THAT up."

He sighed, "She was only being honest. She didn't want you going around thinking she loved you back. I admire her bravery. Not many people are able to do that. But give the girl some time. She has just been ripped out of her own world and into ours. It's tough for her. Give her sometime. She'll come to realize who she truely loves."

"I hope you're right." he said.

He smiled, "Have I ever been wrong?"

He looked up with a grin, "No."

"Just give the girl some time. Go to her and apologize for what ever it is you said."

"I'll let it be for now, I'll go to her tomorrow." he said.

He nodded, "If you think thats best."

He nodded, "Thank you brother."

He smiled, "Your welcome."

Meanwhile...

Ank and Otep had fallen asleep next to Nefertari.

Nefertari lay there motionless.

Ank laid his head on her hip, he was laying behind her, while Otep was laying in front of her. They both got on her bed to comfort her.

She stroked Otep as she sat there in thought

Otep was falling asleep as she petted him.

She sighed, "Your a good dog aren't you?"

Ank nudged her, to remind her he was there too.

She gave him a small smile, "Your a good boy too." She scratched his ear.

He settled down and fell asleep too.

Then Otep perked up and his brother followed along, they were looking to the door way.

"who is there?" She asked them.

"So...this is the bride of Anubis hmm?" it was young looking woman and she was holding a black scorpion in her hand.

"You're nothing but a mortal." she sneered.

Nefertari immediately sat up, "Who are you?"

She snickered, "I am Serket, goddess of Scorpions. Normally..." she began and many scorpions came crawling in, "My stings and bite are for healing, but I believe this called for the OPPOSITE don't you think?" The scorpions came towards her!

The Jackals growled and barked at the scorpions.

Nefertari screamed, "Wait you can have him! I'm not interested in him!"

She snorted, "Well I'm not letting have the chance of changing your mind either." she laughed as the scorpions still came.

Nefertari screamed louder, "Hathor! Thoth! Sobeck! Rem! Bast! SOME ONE HELP!"

Then something burned all the scorpions, "WHAT?!" Serket hissed. "Serket!" the scorpion goddess turned around and gasped, "I-I-Isis!" she bowed, "Please Isis I-" "SILENCE! Return to your palace, I will deal with you later!" Serket kept her head low and left.

Isis turned to Nefertari, "Are you hurt child?" she walked over to her.

"No I'm fine. They didn't hurt me." She said a little in awe of Isis

She took a deep breath and sighed, "I thought she would do something like this." Isis looked Nefertari over, "I am happy to see a one of my most devoted prayers in unhurt."

"It is an honor to meet you Isis."

"And I you. I actually came her because Hathor came to see me. She told me she was worried about you." she said sitting down on Nefertari's bed.

Nefertari's eyes fell. "Oh...."

"Talk to me child, i will not speak what you tell now to anyone else." she assured her.

"I don't want to marry Anubis..." She sighed.

"And why is this?" she asked.

"I'm in love with another." She sighed

"Would this man take you as a wife if he knew your feelings?" she questioned.

Nefertari sighed uncertain, "I... I'm not sure. I think he would. But I'm not 100% positive."

"Then how about I make you a deal." she stood, "If you ask this man if he feels the same for you as you do for him, you can return to the realm of mortals, but....if he does not, talk to Anubis and see what you can do."

She nodded, "I think that seems fair. But would Anubis let me go?"

"If it brought before his mother and Osiris he will obey." she said.

Nefertari smiled, "Thank you Isis. I will be sure to make a most generous offering at your temple in thanks."

She smiled, "Thank you. But for now, you may remain here with Hathor and I will talk to Anubis and tell him what will be happening." she walked out of her room.

Nefertari smiled, "Thank you."

Hathor returned after all the commotion, "Are you alright, you're not hurt."
