Bride of Anubis

She took a step back, "W-what do you want?"

He smirked, grabbing her wrist pulling her to him, "Why you of course." he snickered.

She struggled, "Let go of me!"

"Where do you think you'll go? Why not come with me, I'm better than the lord of the dead." he pulled her right to him.

"No I don't!" She struggled, "ANUBIS!!!!" She screamed.

Anubis was walking about sighing in frustration and a tad of sadness, "Does she hate me so much?" then he paused, "Did I just..."

"Anubis! HELP ME!!" She screamed again.

He ran right for Nefertari's screams, "Nefertari!" he shouted.

The serket come out in front of him and blew a red power in his face, "What!?" he coughed.

"Anubis! Help!" She kept screaming.

Serket smiled, "Your all mine now."

Anubis' shook it off and his eyes glowed red, "Serket!! Get out of my way!!" he pushed her aside.

When he saw Seth, he growled, his teeth bared. He tackled Seth and they feel to the floor, "You piece of trash!!"

Serket immediately grabbed Nefertari, "Anubis look at this..." She had a scorpion against her neck.

Anubis stopped and his eyes widen, "Serket, you dare use your stings to kill....they are for HEALING!" he frowned.

"Kill heal. Who cares as long as she is gone." then within a second the scorpion stung Nefertari's neck.

"You will not harm her." He got off of Seth and slowly stood.

"Or what?" She let the scorpion crawl onto Nefertari's neck.

Anubis straightened, "I will never forgive you if you hurt her." he glared.

She hesitated for a second, "You know what..? I don't care anymore. I spent years trying to win your affection, but only got the cold shoulder. So if I can't have you no one can!" Nefertari gasped as the scorpion stung her neck. Serket let her fall to the ground.

"NO!!" he ran over to her. Anubis made the scorpion disintegrate and her looked at her sting, "Nefertari, stay with me!"

Serket and Seth disappeared.
"I-I'm sorry Anubis." A ttear rolled down her cheek

"Don't apologise. Don't worry about it." he picked her up and he rushed to Nefertem's palace.

"NEFERTEM! I NEED YOU NOW!!" he shouted.

He stepped out, "What is- Oh my!" His eyes widened. "What happened?"

Serket had her stung!" he laid her on the table. "Black scorpion!"

"Oh dear thats not good... the black ones are the most deadly." He sighed, "But I'll do what I can."

ANubis leaned over her face, "Nefertari, I need you to look at me, please! Keep your eyes open." he tried to stay calm.

"Anubis... I... I'm sorry for..." She became unconscious

Anubis panicked, "Nefertem do something!!"

He sighed, "Well at least she is only unconscious." He got some medicine, "I'll do what I can."

Anubis refused to leave her side. Hathor and Bastet got word and were came right away, "What happened?"

Nefertem sighed, "Serket made an attempt on her life."

Anubis looked at the two goddesses, "Tell me... do you two know if she had attempted to take Nefertari's life before this?"

Hathor hesitated, "Well yes once... but Isis stopped her."

"And you did not inform about this WHY?" he rubbed his temples, "I would have done better to protect her!"

Nefertari's body started shaking, "HOLD HER DOWN!" Nefertem Yelled urgently.

Anubis got her pinned down, "Nefertari calm down!" he begged.

"It's no use trying to talk to her. It's the poison." Nefertem sighed. "Open her mouth. Let's see if this stuff works."

Anubis opened her mouth open, "Hathor, keep her legs still!" Hathor and Bastet grabbed a leg each and held her down.

Nefertem poured the medicine down her throat, "I hope this works."

Anubis helped her swallow it and he sat her up, "Please work." he held her head up.

Her body stopped shaking, "Thats a good sign..." He sighed. "She will remain here until she is well."

He sighed, "I will stay." Hathor frowned, "And WHO will be judging the dead? No, she is safe with Nefertem, YOU have a job to do." ANubis sighed, "Very well, but I' WILL come to check on her." he reminded Nefertem.

Nefertem frowned, "What do you think I'm gonna do to her while you atr gone?" HE sounded irritated, "Black scorpion poison is serious."

"Its not YOU I'm worried about." he looked at Nefertari, "Seth has his eyes on her and Serket wants her dead. Keep them out of your house while I'm gone."

He nodded, "I will. Now go."

ANubis attended to his duties in the underworld and even in his judging, all he could think about was Nefertari. He sighed after each one, Thoth could see his worried expression.

Thoth sighed, "Go to her. I'll finish up here."

"No, I have to catch up. Plus, she is safe with Nefertem."

Thoth sighed, "No go. You can't concentrate on this with her to worry about. Your judgement is slipping."

He sighed, "Very well. Tell me how it goes after I return." he vanished.

He nodded, "I will."

Back at Nefertem place, Nefertari had started running a fever

Anubis appeared in the room, "Nefertem, how is she?" he went to her side.
