Runaway

She sighed and nodded, "I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner. I just wanted you to like me for who I am, not what I am."
"Wait did you just mention something about marriage." her jaw dropped.

"Father thinks that I ran away to find a wife. That is not true. I ran away from him and this dark place."

She put his hand to her face, "You should've just left me out in town. It's all my fault this happened."

Abaddon sat up slowly.
"No, I would have rather been lashed then to know that you had gotten raped because I didn't help you."

A tear rolled down her cheek, "This is still all my fault. If I hadn't runaway. You would have never found me and you would still be in the forest."

"Don't say that." He reached toward her face and wiped away her tears.
"I am sure you ran away for a good reason. None of this is your fault. Our paths crossed by chance and I decided to help you. It is no ones fault."

She looked at him, "You really feel that way?"

"Of course. I have no reason to lie to you." He leaned into her face and kissed the remainder of her tears away.
"So stop talking like that ok?"

She blushed and smiled as he kissed her, "I'm glad I met you."

"Likewise." He stroked her cheek with his thumb.
"So why did you run away exactly?"

She sighed, "I didn't want to get married to some one I didn't love. Let alone know."

"An arranged marriage?" Abaddon took his hand back and laid back down, this time on his side.
"I don't blame you. My father wanted to arrange a marriage for me as well."

She blinked, "Really? Who was she?"

"I never knew. I ran away before the arrangement could ever be reached. I guess now that this has happened there is no need for it. I promise I will get you out of here. I am sure the last thing you want is to be trapped in this castle against your will with me."

She blushed a bit, "I wouldn't mind as much being trapped here with you."

Abddon blushed a bit himself.
"What an honor, my princess." He teased.

His father walked in with a grin on his face.
"Taking liberties on your bride already?" His father teased.

Abaddon blushed.
"No father. . ."
"Come now I heard it all." Abaddon just looked away.
"Now my dear I have a proposition for you. I just recently heard about what happened in your kingdom. You ran away from home in defiance of your birthright. In return for my sons hand, I will let you stay here and I will not turn you in to your parents." He grinned evilly knowing that it did not matter they were meant to be betrothed anyway.

She turned to Abaddon for advise. "What should I do?" She asked

"Would you rather stay here or go home? It is up to you?"

She sighed, "I guess I'll stay here with you."

"Wonderful. I will have a proper bed chamber prepared for you then." Godric turned away and shut the door behind him. Abaddon smiled at her.
"Welcome to your new home." He was not really happy about the arrangement, but at least he would not be alone in this empty castle anymore.

Aunkia gave him a small smile, "It's the least I can do since it's my fault that your back here again."

"I wish you would stop blaming yourself. . ."

She shook her head, "But it is my fault."

"It is nothing you should worry about. I escaped once, I can do it again. I will take you with me of course." He leaned his back against the pillows gently, wincing from the pain.

She sighed, "Is there a garden around here?"

"In this desolate town? No. But, my mother has a little garden on the rooftop where she grows all kinds of flowers. I can take you there if you like." He sat up slowly and stood.

She smiled and nodded, "I would very much like that."

Abaddon lent his arm to her and guided her through the palace staying clear of the king and his guard.
"I think you will like my mother. She is very sweet, and the total opposite of my father."

She took it and fallowed him.

They arrived to the top of the roof. It was carpeted with roses, lilies and all kinds of beautiful flowers. His mother was there tending to her flowers.
"Ah, Abaddon my dear you're home?"
"Yes mother."

Abaddon's mother walked over to her son and hugged him.
"I am so glad you came back." She almost wanted to cry she was so happy to see her son. Abbadon's mother, Natalya was a fair skinned beauty with dark blackish-blue hair and light green eyes. She wore a white casual gown and a small crown on her head. She was the queen, but not much attention is bestowed on her. The king was more concerned with his concubines. Natalya didn't mind really, all she needed was her garden and her family.

Aunika smiled at her, "Hello."

"Who is this young lady dear?" Natalya smiled at Aunika
admiring her beauty.
"She is so lovely."

Aunika blushed, "My names Aunika, Your Highness."

"It is a pleasure to meet you dear. I am queen Natalya." Natalya assumed that this girl was Abaddon's soon to be wife.
"I cannot wait until you join the family." She smiled sweetly and went back to tending her flowers. Abaddon blushed a bit.

Aunika smiled at him, "Your mother is sweet."

"Yes. I hate the way father treats her."
Natalya's scissors slipped a bit when she heard Abaddon say that. Little did he know that she was pregnant with another child. While he was away, Natalya had to suffer from her husbands anger.
"Mother, are you okay?"
"I am fine dear. The scissors just slipped. You may pick any flowers you wish my dear. Decorate your room with them."

She smiled at her, "Thank you. Your garden is lovely."

"Thank you sweetie. I try my best to keep this rooftop looking beautiful." Abaddon walked over to his mother and gave her a hug then took Aunika around the garden to let her pick some flowers.

When she was finished she returned to Abaddon.

"Roses." She smiled.

"Beautiful. Lets take these to your room and put them in water." He offered his arm to her and proceeded to guide her back into the castle to the royal wing where she would be staying.

She took his arm and smiled as he lead her to her new room. With Abaddon here with her everything seemed perfect.

Abaddon led her to her room which was just down the hall from his. He opened the door to reveal a huge room with a canopy bed, a vintage dresser and vanity. Abaddon spotted a small vase near the window.
"You can put those in that vase over there."

She smiled at him and put the rosed in the vase, "So what is there to do around here?"
