Runaway

He entered the tent and gently pryed her from his arms.

The sudden rush of cold air on his chest woke him. He sat up and looked to see that Aunika was gone.
"She wouldn't go anywhere without me. Something is wrong." He grabbed his cloak and pulled it over his head, grabbed his weapon and charged out of the tent.

Aunkia was no where in sight.

Abaddon pressed on.
"They can't have gotten far."
The man gagged Aunika and was quickly heading back toward the palace with his captive. Abaddon was hot on his trail. Abaddon followed the trail through the forest. Broken twigs and human foot prints led him to Aunika's captor.
"Stop right there!" Abaddon stood in front of him with his sword in hand stopping the thief in his tracks.
"Put her down! NOW!"

He had drugged Auinka so she wouldn't wake up.

He put a knife to her neck, "If you come with me I wont kill her."

Abaddon was in no position to refuse.
"My father sent you didn't he? What good is killing her? She has nothing to do with me."

"You still want her alive don't you?" He said. "If so then you'll come with me. If not well then you wouldn't mind me killing her." He pressed the knife harder against her neck drawing a little blood so he knew he was serious.

This little upstart was angering Abaddon.
"Fine. Let her go first. There is no need to hurt a useless girl. My father does that enough."

He shook his head, "No the girl comes with us."

"No! Tie her to the tree so she won't run off and I will come with you."

"No! She will come with us. She will ensure your return." He said. "And if you don't agree to my terms well I'm sure your father would love another girl in his harem. If you come with me she will go unharmed."

"How do I know I can trust you to let her go and not just give her to my father?" Abaddon walked closer toward them both lowering his sword a bit.

He kept the knife firmly pressed against her neck, "You don't, but if you come with me freely I'm sure your father would let you keep her."

"I don't trust anything that heartless man says!" Abaddon gripped his sword angrily trying to resist the urge to just charge at this man and take off his head, but he knew that he would just use Aunika as a shield.
"Very well, I will come with you." He sheathed his sword and hung his head down in defeat. There was no use fighting anymore. He could tell that Aunika was terrified, and she would soon learn the truth about who he really was.

Aunika was still drugged and asleep. The man smiled, "Good, now come along." He threw Aunika over his shoulder.

Abaddon looked back and worried for Cielo. He didn't want some bandits to steal him. He walked behind the man keeping his eyes on Aunika to make sure he didn't try anything shifty.
"So, does my father plan to have me killed?"
"Be quiet prince."

"The girl is getting heavy go fetch your horse." He said

"I am not about to leave you alone with her. You come too. If not then let me have her, I am more capable than you are." Abaddon was very muscular and this guy was kinda short and chubby but a little bit muscular.

He frowned, "Fine, I'll go with you." He wasn't about to give away his bait.

Abaddon walked along side the man. He dare not turn his back on him. The guy might try to kill him. Cielo was still at the camp and was acting quite recklessly.
"Whoa calm down boy." Abaddon walked over to him and grabbed the rope that held him to the tree. He got his reigns and put them back on Cielo. The horse flared his nostrils at the impostor.

The man placed Aunika on the horses back then mounted the horse.

Cielo was very anxious and being a little temperamental.
"What is wrong with this stupid horse?!" The man was getting very agitated.
"You. Your presence her is upsetting him." Abaddon tried to calm him down and get him to move forward. He eventually obeyed and they headed toward Abaddon's home land.

They traveled through out the night and by morning they were half way here. Aunika started to wake, "Nngh..." She tried to say something but was in shock to find herself gaged and tied. "Mmmm!"

Abaddon heard her stir, and turned to look at her.
"It's ok. Just calm down."
The husky man was disgusted.
"Eyes forward prince."

At lunch time they stopped. The man got off the horse. "I'm hungry." He took Aunika off the horse and set her down against a tree.

"Well, what do you want me to do about it?" Abaddon said with malice in his tone.
"You have food don't you?"
"I did but you forced me to abandon everything at my camp site."
Abaddon walked over to Aunika.
"Are you doing alright?"

She nodded, she tried to speak through the gag but it was no use.
"Well so be it. We'll just have to eat when we get into town."

Abaddon was still not happy. The two boarded the horse and Abaddon continued to lead the way into Abaddons home town. It was a huge dark city that was below a HUGE castle. The citizens roamed the city under a strict curfew.
"I hoped I would never see this place again. . ."

They arrived at the palace.

The husky man kept Aunika with him and followed Abaddon to the throne room where his furious father awaited his sons return.
"My son." Abaddon bowed his head to his father.
"Father."
"Why did you run away my son? To be with this girl?!?" His father was angry, but he tried his best to conceal it.
"No father."
"Then WHY?!?" His father, who looked exactly like Abaddon, just more aged stood up and walked toward his son.
"Because, I do not agree with the way you run this kingdom." The king reached out and smacked him across the face.
"How dare you disrespect me like that?!?" Abaddon fell back a bit and held his cheek.
"Away with you! As for the girl, take her to the guest chambers until I have decided what to do with her." Abaddon walked away and headed to his bed chamber. The husky man took Aunika to a separate room and locked her in there removing her gag and ropes.

"Where am I?" She asked immediately.

Abaddon easily swiped the keys to Aunika's room from his husky captive. He went to the guest chambers and found her room. He put the key in and unlocked the door.
"You are a guest at my castle." Abaddon entered the room dressed as the dark prince his father wanted him to be.

She ran to him, "I'm scared."

Abaddon was taken aback when she ran into his arms. He held her gently and stroked her head comfortingly.
"Everything is ok, for now. My father is showing mercy for the time being. Just stay strong ok? And I will stay with you as long as I can, I promise."

Aunika felt safer in Abaddon's arms. She nodded, "What will he do if he finds you in here with me?"

"I will punish him." Abaddon turned around to see his father standing in the doorway with two armed guards standing behind him.
"Take my son to the torture chamber for a good lashing. I will break him of this habit whether he likes it or not." With that, the king turned around and walked away. The two guards took Abaddon away and kept Aunika locked in the room.

She ran to the door, but they closed it before she could get through. She banged one fist no the door. "No..." She said in a small voice. She didn't want him to get hurt just because of her.

Abaddon's hand were bound and raised above his head. His shirt lay on the ground beside him. He was in a stone room deep below the castle. Instruments of torture lay all over the room. He heard a door behind him open. A huge muscular man wearing a black mask approached him with a fine leather whip in his hand. Abaddon prepared himself for the worst, which is exactly what he got. With each lash, his screams could be heard all through the palace.

Aunika's hands flew to her mouth, "No... this is all my fault." She banged on the door harder, "I, Princess Aunika of Landon, command you to open this door NOW!"

The girls shouting caught the kings ear. He turned on his heel and went back to the door.
"Princess Aunika you say? You know your parents are so worried about you and have been searching for you for quite a while." He said in a childish but still angry tone. The king opened the door and approached the girl.
"You are no more a princess than I am a commoner. What makes you think I will believe such an outlandish story?"

She pulled out her necklace that had the royal crest of Landon along with the royal jewels, "Here! And if that doesn't prove it then look at my features I have never worked a day in my life. My hands are soft, my nails are manicured and my hair is clean." She said as she stood with the grace and poise of a princess.

King Godric examined the items closely and looked at the girl more closely.
"Heh, least my son managed to do one thing right. Maybe he is not as pigheaded as I thought. Maybe I need to reconsider some things." King Godric put this items down on a table and walked out of the room still keeping the door locked. He headed down to the torture chambers.
"Stop!" He ordered as he walked in to the chamber where his son was being punished.
"F-father?"
"I have misjudged you my son. You ventured out to find a suitable wife so you stole the princess from her country to bring her here." The king smirked evilly.
"You become more cold blooded every day. I am proud of you. Release him and treat those wounds. I don't want him dying on me." The king left and went back to his harem to enjoy himself.

Aunika sighed and waited in her room. Praying that he was okay.

Abaddon was in incredible pain, but the medicine was beginning to help. The finest medicine man in all of Koolidge worked for the kingdom. Abaddon walked up the guest hall and leaned on the door where Aunika was being held.
"Are you alright?" He asked hoping that she was still in there.

Aunika gasped and ran to the door, "I'm fine, but are you okay?" She asked concerned.

Abaddon leaned on the door and that pulled the knob down and he was surprised to hear the door open. The husky genius that had turned him in and kidnapped Aunika forgot to lock it when he came to check on her.
He walked in and shut the door quickly. His shirt was still missing. His chest and back were bandaged and he looked terrible.
"I have been better. . .but I will be ok."

She gasped, "I'm so sorry I didn't help sooner."

"It's not your fault." He sat down on the bed and laid down on his stomach feeling exhausted from his ordeal.

She sat next to him on the bed, "I have a confession to make." She sighed, "I'm a princess."

Abaddon turned his head and touched her hand.
"I know. My father mentioned something about me running away to find a suitable wife so I stole a princess from her country. I put two and two together and realized what you were hiding."
